The Arc: Sensory Room
The stress of air travel can be taxing for those with autism and other disabilities, but the Lehigh Valley International Airport is looking to change that. Recent construction of a "Sensory Room" makes ABE Airport, in collaboration with the Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties, one of three organizations in the world to offer such services to travelers. The SADD Program, also known as Students Against Destructive Decisions, shows the consequences of driving while intoxicated by utilizing a mock “real-life” approach. Partnering with St. Luke’s University Health Network and other local responders, this day brings awareness of the consequences of distracted driving.
